In 2012 we set aside our leather pants to write and perform the play Clowns, which premiered at the Dublin Fringe Festival. The story of three beleaguered children's entertainers battling poverty, repetitive strain injuries and creative differences; the play drew on our experiences of touring, arguing and taking a ludicrous job incredibly seriously. It was nominated for the Fishamble New Writing Award

In June 2017, after a few rounds of script development, we were awarded production funding by the Irish Film Board (now Screen Ireland) to turn the play into our second feature film. Directed by George Kane (Wedding Season, Inside No9, Dick Turpin), and produced by Fastnet Films (Black 47, Life’s A Breeze). After a brief interruption, due to Covid 19, we finally began shooting in April 2022.

Apocalypse Clown had its world premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh 2023 where it won BEST IRISH FILM. It had its North American Premiere at Fantasia Film Festival 2023 in Montreal.

It received a theatrical release in Ireland and the UK in September 2023 to wide spread critical acclaim. It will be available to stream on Netflix from 23rd October 2023. It was also sold to Capstone Pictures (through Telepool) for the US and Canada; Telepool for German-speaking territories; Njuta for Scandinavia, MCF Megacom for the Adriatics; Arna Media for Russia and CIS; Pictureworks for India; and Aardwolf for airlines.

Apocalypse Clown was directed by George Kane and produced by Fastnet Films with the support of Screen Ireland, RTÉ, BAI, U Media, Wildcard, Vertigo releasing and Charade.
